Helen Walne is an award-winning columnist and writer. Born in England, she has lived in South Africa, Argentina and Scotland. She has an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town. She has spent the last 15 years working as a columnist, writing for most of our national newspapers and various magazines.

Her research has revealed that surprisingly few memoirs have been written on the subject of suicide anywhere, and the incidence of such works in South Africa is scarce.
